The Acupress Back & Belly Band is the targeted tool that moves with you. It’s a wearable and adjustable mid-body wrap with a removable acupressure pad that's made with our Level 1 signature Shakti spikes.

Attaching the acupressure pad to the centre of the band releases your lower back. Moving it to the front inner-strap relieves your belly. Removing it entirely provides lumbar and postpartum support.

Fasten the inner straps so that the band fits comfortably around your waist, then tighten the outer straps to adjust the pressure of the spikes.

The low-profile silhouette hugs your natural contours and can be worn effortlessly under clothes. Wear it while sitting, driving, and moving through your day.

Choosing your size

To find the right fit, stand relaxed and hold a soft measuring tape at your belly button, or at the centre of your natural waistline. Bring it around your body until it meets back at the start. Use your measurement to pick your size from the guide below:

Small: 65-79 cm
Medium: 80-99 cm
Large: 100-120 cm

How to fit

It's made to sit snugly around your waist, covering the lumbar region (your lower back and abdomen) and following the natural curve of your spine. The bottom edge should rest on the top of your hips, giving support without feeling overly tight or restrictive. Exactly how you wear it is up to you, but the right fit will give you the best results.

On your back

1. Release every strap so they hang freely.

2. With the spikes facing towards you, attach the acupressure pad to the centre of the band, on the soft loop strip.

3. Fit the belt to your waist by placing the spikes on your lower back, then wrap the long inner fastening straps around your body and fasten them together at the centre of your belly. Adjust if needed, so the spikes sit correctly for you. The fit should be snug but comfortable.

4. Set the pressure of the spikes with the short outer pressure straps. It's easier to adjust both sides at once. Pull forward on the straps to stretch the elastic and secure them at the pressure you want. You can fasten them high or low on the belt to reach the right amount of pressure for your back.

On your belly

1. Release every strap so they hang freely.

2. Take the acupressure pad off the centre of the band. With the spikes facing towards you, attach it to the soft loop strip on the long inner fastening strap (to your right).

3. Fit the belt to your waist by placing the spikes on your belly, then wrap the band around your back, fastening the long inner fastening straps at the centre of your belly.

You can fasten them high or low on the belt to reach the right amount of pressure for your belly.

How to use

Wear the band with the acupressure pad against your back or your belly for as long as it feels comfortable. To get the full effect, we suggest 15-30 minutes at a time.

Skin-to-spike contact works best. If the first sensation is too much, ease the pressure off by releasing the short outer pressure straps.

Try deep breaths to build pressure without having to refasten the straps.

Take the acupressure pad off for support without spikes. The band can be worn without the pad for as long as it stays comfortable.

It's made to be worn under clothes while standing, sitting, driving, and getting through most daily activities. We don't recommend wearing it during vigorous exercise.

You may want to readjust the band each time you put it on (when switching from back to belly, or from seated to standing) for the perfect fit.

Free returns & exchanges

We get it — buying a belt that presses thousands of spikes into your back is a tricky call when you can't try it first. If Shakti turns out not to be right for you, you can return or exchange yours within 60 days. That said, only 1 in every 271 customers sends their Shakti Mat back, and that's a mat covered in spikes.

5 year warranty

We're not relaxed until you are. Everything we make is guaranteed from day one, and we'll repair or replace anything that arrives faulty.

Relief that doesn’t require lying still

The discreet low-profile design can be worn seated, standing, commuting—even driving—without a soul knowing you feel like a million bucks. No more lying down to Shakti. And no undressing completely, either.

Removable acupressure pad for back or belly tension

Aim the tension exactly where you need it. Place the spikes on the rear of the band to release your lower back, or on the front inner fastening strap to relieve your belly. Take them off entirely for lumbar and postpartum support.

2-stage tensioning = personalised relief

One set of straps holds the band against your body and keeps it comfortably in place. The other set controls how hard the spikes press to release tension—fasten them high or low on the belt to find the right release.

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose?

To land on your perfect fit, stand relaxed and hold a soft measuring tape at your belly button, or at the widest part of your natural waistline. Circle it around your back until it meets back at the start. Use that measurement to pick your size from the guide below.

Small: 25.6–31.1 inches
Medium: 31.5–39 inches
Large: 39.4–47.2 inches

Can I use my pant size?

Pant sizes don't reflect your true waist circumference, especially around the belly — exactly where this band is made to sit.

The Acupress Back & Belly Band is sized by real body measurements so it hugs your back and belly comfortably and effectively — so grab a tape measure and get the actual numbers.

How do I fit it correctly on my body?

It's made to sit snugly around your waist, covering the lumbar region (your lower back and abdomen) and following the natural curve of your spine. The bottom edge should rest on the top of your hips, giving support without feeling overly tight or restrictive. Exactly how you wear it is up to you, but the right fit will give you the best results.

It's fitted properly, now what?

Wear the band with the acupressure pad against your back or your belly for as long as it feels comfortable. To get the full effect, we suggest 15-30 minutes at a time.

Skin-to-spike contact works best. If the first sensation is too much, ease the pressure off by releasing the short outer pressure straps.

Try deep breaths to build pressure without having to refasten the straps.

Take the acupressure pad off for support without spikes. The band can be worn without the pad for as long as it stays comfortable.

It's made to be worn under clothes while standing, sitting, driving and getting through most daily activities. We don't recommend wearing it during vigorous exercise.

You may want to readjust the band each time you put it on (when switching from back to belly, or from seated to standing) for the perfect fit.

Can I wear this while pregnant or postpartum?

We don't recommend using acupressure tools during pregnancy or postpartum.

Once the acupressure pad is removed, the Acupress Back and Belly Band becomes safe to use throughout pregnancy and postpartum (much like a traditional lumbar band).

Please speak with your doctor about whether it's safe for you to use the Acupress Back and Belly Band, with or without the removable acupressure pad, during your pregnancy and postpartum journey.

How does it feel when it's on?

At first it feels like a few thousand spikes pressing into your back or belly, but after a few minutes your body softens and a warm feeling takes over.

The support and adjustability of a 2-stage tensioning system lets you find your own 'point' of relaxation by tuning each set of straps independently.

Turning up the intensity with more pressure can feel uncomfortable early on, but the payoff is worth it.

Ease the pressure off, or skip the spikes entirely for a far more supportive experience.

What level are the spikes?

The Acupress Back & Belly Band is made with our signature level 1 spikes.

Why? Because wrapping spikes around you is different from lying on them. You set the intensity with compression instead of relying on gravity alone. Perfect whether you want to dial each spike up, or relax into a softer sensation.

What is the difference between acupressure and acupuncture?

Where acupuncture uses needles to pierce the skin, acupressure uses spikes to press against it.

The key difference with the Acupress Back & Belly Band is that you stimulate multiple acupoints in about as many seconds as it takes to wrap yourself up, and you can tune the intensity to your own level of pressure.

I keep thinking I don't need more shakti....

...and then I buy another one and love it. Surely I don't need a back & belly band when I already own the mat, which lets me do the back or the belly, right?

    But I love it! Why?

    * I can wear it anywhere — on the long car rides my back hates, while working or watching something, just slipped on under roomy clothing

    * It's genuinely a bit different — on me it wraps around the flank and hugs my body, reaching some very angry spots up my sides that the regular mat never gets to.

    Misschien wennen

    Life changing

Heat packs, roller balls, deep heat and Panadol used to be my go-to's whenever my lower back flared up, but nothing — and I mean NOTHING — compares to the Shakti back band! I can dial in the pressure and the area with the strap, or by lying down on it around my inflamed lower back, rolling back and forth until I hit that Ahhh moment of bliss. It takes the edge off and gives you pain relief for a long stretch of time. Highly recommend this product!

Brilliant for my lower back pain — I use the mat, the roll and the head band too.
